February: 2/16/23, 6pm (location TBD)
Guest Speaker: Heather Murray - "Finding Meaning and the Ability to Just Be"
BIO: While in her youth Heather discovered that responding to life in an optimum way requires a shift in thinking habits. During her years in education, she taught her students, their parents, and her colleagues her strategies and techniques to combat anxiety, de-motivation, fear of failure, and many of the other lovely emotional and mental challenges life throws at us and they worked wonders for them. Now she teaches these same thinking strategies and techniques for health, happiness, and success to a broader audience (from Europe, North Africa, South America, Canada and the US), via her book and masterclass.
The information in Heather’s book, Think GET A GRIP, teaches individuals, teams, and companies preventive techniques to choose a response that works well rather than a knee jerk reaction that doesn’t. This knowledge also helps people recognize the needs of others which aids them in their ability to stay level and calm in challenging situations.
In today’s work climate it is more important than ever that we feel supported and able to be mentally and emotionally ready to tackle everyday problems. In our personal lives this is true as well. Offering training that is specific to mental and emotional health sends a loud message that we all matter. The simple everyday exercises in the book teach the why, what and how to be able to think the thoughts that gain the best response to situations that arise.
Heather, along with Kate Fornarotto, started the non profit Think GET A GRIP. Their goal is to help our community be its best by spreading this knowledge as much as possible. They are currently looking for facilitators interested in helping their company learn and grow.
Heather will be talking to us today about making meaning out of each day.

LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/kareyneal/
karey.j.neal@gmail.com
Experience: Servant Leadership, Future of Work, Human Capital Management Strategist, How to Lead, Innovation & Strategy
Karey Neal is an expert in experiences with humility. There isn’t much that makes her better than anyone else who can get up on stage and talk into a mic for 30-45 minutes, other than she generally doesn't need alcohol. Karey is impassioned by bringing people together to find common strings of empathy that allow them to build proverbial tables. Tables that bring people together. We as community leaders must make transformational changes to how we approach our teams, employees, neighbors, and most importantly our immediate sphere and be the example of what the future looks like.
Karey Neal has been a Human Resources Business Solution Expert whose focus is on The Future of Work and building strong operational teams to support the vision for nearly 20 years. Serving teams across the world, from start-ups of 20 employees to large consulates serving close to a thousand individuals, as a Foreign Service Officer; budgets ranging from just under $250,000 per year to $6.8B. Karey Neal challenges people to approach the future with radical candor to reshape their views, and paint brighter pictures for what the future can look like.
Karey focuses on breaking stagnant thought cycles by driving innovation through strong team development focused on life work balance, disrupting the status quo and how “we’ve always done it”. For exponential growth to take place we must scale the need for understanding the ever changing digital landscape of workplace best-practices. Through thoughtful and sober storytelling of the power of overcoming diversity, without taking herself too seriously, Karey brings forth refreshing and practical strategies for how to serve those around her a little bit better, without draining her own battery. Advocating for the future of humanity in an increasingly tech-driven world. Her insights help corporate and cultural leaders re-think how to succeed long-term by taking a human-centric approach to every area of their business.
Karey’s academic background boasts a BSBA, BSBW, and MBA; focusing on human social experience, human resources, and organizational development and leadership formation allowing her to be the single most expert in wine codependency in her thirties. It also allowed her the opportunity to learn how to build a multitude of tables to meet the Boomers to the Zoomers, while fostering strong diversity, equity and inclusion disciplines to meet the ever growing need to reframe and redefine the word community.

Mix n' Mingle Presents: The Crush

Musical Shape Shifters
Crush was started in the beginning of 2019. With the Pandemic, the band was afraid it was an end to their beginning. They were wrong. Crush pushed through and even, we daresay, thrived. The musicians have a passion for performing and giving all they have on stage. They currently cover songs from all different genres and are able to morph into the sound they want. The focus for 2022 is writing their own originals and heading to some festivals.
The Name Of The Game? HAVE FUN!
Crush is always bringing the party. They have been known to hand out beads and masks for Mardi Gras or noise makers and party favors for other events. Sometimes they will even dress the part, for example, a mostly Country night.
Are You Serious?
Crush takes their fun very seriously. They want to share their creativity with the world. The more people to share with the better! Keep watching them. Great things are coming! We can feel it. https://thebandcrush.com/
